Brainhunters Methodology & Services

Brainhunters uses a series of techniques to find the right candidates to fill our clients' job vacancies. These techniques include data base review, executive search, advertising, reverse marketing and business networking websites. Some of these techniques are on-going while others are deployed as needed. We also attend industry conferences and trade shows and read our client's product materials – we spend time gaining knowledge of our clients' businesses, their competition and what movement there is in the industry. But of more importance than the individual techniques is the cohesive and orderly approach Brainhunters employs to ensure we have identified the best candidate to meet your requirements.

Understand the Business

Before we start work on a new recruitment project we appreciate an in-depth briefing from senior managers on the organisational relationships and culture in the business so we can identify all qualities and characteristics critical to the candidate's ultimate success.

Position Description

Once we understand your needs, we review the position profile provided and often incorporate what we believe to be the criteria for success and individual growth potential.

Candidate Targeting

We create original, customised research, identifying sources and prospects and developing a list of organisations where qualified candidates are likely to be found. An extensive list of potential candidates is collected through our personal & business networks, databases of individuals and trusted sources – collected, tracked and continually updated.

Candidate Identification

We often take a direct marketing approach to heighten market awareness and increase the response rate to your search. We email potential candidates culled from our list advising of your unique opportunity before calling and then following up aggressively, by phone. In today's marketplace we find this proactive approach attracts a significantly higher number of potential candidates than more conventional reactive methods.

Candidate Evaluation & Interviews

Candidate prospects are evaluated by in-depth telephone interviews. Those that we feel meet our client's brief are then subjected to face to face in-depth interviews where we utilise the Interviewer's Tool Belt – a series of open ended questions geared to understanding innate behaviours and management styles e.g. examples from real life work experiences, having the interviewee compare/contrast, if asking how a specific problem was solved, following up with asking why he/she selected that method/approach. Brainhunters has formulated a unique and proven interview style and range of techniques.

Presentation of Candidates

Before meeting the finalists, our clients receive confidential written reports (verbal depending on timeframe) detailing individual key competencies measured against the position specifications, motivation, salary and benefits history and personality profiles.

Candidate & Client Interviews

We arrange meetings between Client and Candidate, including travel details, and contact both parties immediately after the interview for timely feedback. Our new Recruitment Systems CRM package has specially formatted letters for all candidates to keep them abreast of the process from beginning to completion.

Reference Checking

Once the final candidate or short list of candidates is selected we conduct, with their permission, thorough and detailed reference checking. We talk to many types of referee: bosses, peers, subordinates, customers – those with direct knowledge and insight regarding the candidate's leadership abilities, integrity, technical competence, achievements and personal characteristics. We provide a written report covering these topics, and can also verify academic credentials and provide any other special security or background reports requested by our client.
